Candidate should fit 2-3 of the minimum requirements:
1. Minimum of 2 years in Web Application Development using NodeJS, Java or Go
2. Minimum of 2 years in Android or iOS application development
3. Familiar with Web stack – HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
4. Familiar with MongoDB or other NoSQL (Document-based)
5. Familiar with Relational Database
6. Familiar with Web Services (REST or SOAP) and OOP concept
7. Familiar with cloud environment (IaaS or PaaS)
Bonus points for:
1. Experience or knowledge in data analytics – especially social media analytics

DHCP reservation, ssh and ftp with raspberry PI

Today I want to show you how to connect and communicate with your beloved Raspberry PI using SSH. If you using mac or linux, you can directly using terminal, otherwise for windows user, you need to use Putty. You can download Putty here, http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/putty/download.html .

This tutorial continues from the previous tutorial, learning python in 1 hour. Before you start this tutorial, make sure you have all this tools.

  • Router (Any).
  • Lan cable.
  • Raspberry PI with SD card (recomended 8gb pre-installed Wheezy Rapsberry PI OS).
  • Putty(for Windows) / Terminal (Mac/Linux).

Connect your Raspberry PI to your router using lan cable. Mine using Linksys E1000. Make sure your machine connected to router either wireless or cable.

Open up your browser and type 192.168.1.1 then a popup dialog request you enter username and password. The default password is admin and leave it blank for username. Then you will be redirect to main page.

Then you click DHCP Reservation button at DHCP Server Setting to determine which ip address belonging to Raspberry PI.

You will notice raspberry PI’s ip address is 192.168.1.109. It depends how your router scan your raspberry PI. Copy this ip address into your clipboard. Open up your terminal then type this command to connect with you raspberry PI.

ssh 192.168.1.109  -l pi

When terminal request your password, you enter the raspberry PI default password, raspberry .

If you want to close the connection, type this command. Make sure you in root.

sudo su
shutdown -r now

File transfer

Besides that, this tutorial teach you how to make file transfer using filezilla to your raspberry PI. Download and install this tool before we proceed. https://filezilla-project.org/download.php?type=client . Open up your filezilla application then enter these details to access raspberry PI file directory.

Then a popup appear, tick always trust this host, add this key to the cache. Below is a file directory in raspberry PI.

Installing Wheezy Raspberry OS into Raspberry PI

I just bought my Raspberry PI model B type at Plaza Lowyat, Kuala Lumpur yesterday. I don’t know either is it quite cheap or expensive because the price around RM199 together with SD card 8gb and casing compare to my friend, he buy the gadget around RM111 but without SD card and casing. Just add more RM30 for 3 heat-sink for chipset. My friend buy it through online on this website, RS Malaysia.

This tutorial is about how to install Wheezy Raspberry OS into Raspberry PI using Mac OS. For this first tutorial, I show you installing OS using terminal on Mac. First you need to download these two tools to setup your raspberry PI OS.

Don’t forget, you need a Raspberry PI board, SD card (minimum 8gb to store Wheezy Raspbian OS), HDMI cabel (if you using VGA cable, you can use HDMI converter for VGA) and phone charger for android phone.

After you download all these files, you need to insert your SD card into your mac. Do you know how to insert SD card? You can see on picture below. I’m using Macbook pro for this experiment.

Open your terminal and run this command:

diskutil list

Identify the disk (not partition) of your SD card. Mine is disk3. Run command below to unmount your storage. Make sure you enter correct storage name because it will wipe out all your data. But don’t worry if you entered wrong active storage such as disk0 because it contain OS information of your machine.

diskutil unmountDisk /dev/disk3

Determine your Raspbian OS image path and disk name. My Raspbian OS path is /Users/mohammadnurdin/Downloads/2014-01-07-wheezy-raspbian.img.

sudo dd bs=1m if=/Users/mohammadnurdin/Downloads/2014-01-07-wheezy-raspbian.img of=/dev/disk3

This will take a few minutes. And voilla !!! Your Raspberry PI is ready!! Insert your SD card into your Raspberry PI and turn on. You will get loading page like this:

After finish loading, config screen will appear. You can setup your Raspberry PI base on your needs. Then restart your gadget. After your machine boot again, you will get this dekstop page.
